Engineering, Systems & Digital Projects

Technical guides, server administration, cybersecurity research, PC gaming, and AI build logs by Dan Fry.

I am Dan Fry, a Systems Administrator and Cybersecurity Engineer based in the UK. This site is my technical notebook, where I document server fixes, configuration guides, and hardware projects from my day-to-day work and home lab.

Most of the notes here focus on Linux server administration (Debian, Ubuntu, Proxmox), cPanel/WHM hosting environments, and email deliverability setups using Postfix, SPF, and DKIM. When servers break or error logs fill up, I write down the exact commands, scripts, and configuration steps I used to fix them.

You will also find practical guides on cybersecurity auditing (SSH hardening, rootkit detection, vulnerability checks), local AI agent tooling, DIY hardware builds (Raspberry Pi CCTV and smart mirrors), and PC gaming tweaks for running DirectX and Vulkan games under Linux with Proton.
